I recently saw an illustration depicting drowning people trying desperately to get aboard the ark. The image was captioned, “God is Love…..Terms and Conditions Apply”.
This simple internet meme speaks a powerful truth. We cannot live however we want and expect salvation. God has requirements for us to receive His promises.
Noah and His family had to trust God and build the ark that would be their salvation. Before that Noah lived a righteous life among a crooked and perverse generation.
We too live in a crooked and perverse generation. We have the choice to obey God, or be lost in the flood of sin, awaiting the coming judgment.
God’s wrath will come upon those who make a practice of immorality. Furthermore, we have all sinned and without the cleansing blood of Jesus we would all be condemned.
The ark was the means of salvation in the flood and today its immersion into the waters of baptism. The immersion is not meant to cleanse dirt from our earthly bodies, but instead give us the answer of a good conscience toward God. Our sins are washed away, and we arise a new creature, ready to walk in His commands.
Jesus Saves, Terms and Conditions apply.

Colossians 3:5-6 English Standard Version
5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming.
